Educare is a South Sudan National NGO founded by a group of profound secondary school teachers during the Covid-19 pandemic. It was as a result of teachers reaching out learners and help them continue learning at home. Educare South is implementing e-learning program in South Sudan by providing learners with an innovative and inclusive learning through various learning approaches.
Educare South Sudan provides supplementary learning to all learners through online and offline approach. The e-learning here is not to replace teachers in schools but to supplement what they teach to the learners. In 2023, the offline modal of e-learning was piloted and presented promising results where students exceptionally improved compared to days before the introduction of e-learning offline modal.
Educare South Sudan has developed an App that students use to access content both online and offline. Here, in the face of any situational circumstances, students can still learn at anytime in any place as they shall be moving with their classroom in their pockets.
Our mission is to reimagine education in South Sudan by scaling Junub Academy into a nationally integrated, digitally inclusive, and culturally grounded learning ecosystem—one that bridges opportunity gaps and empowers learners, teachers and communities in both connected and offline environments.
At Educare South Sudan, our values guide every decision, partnership and learning experience. They reflect who we are, how we operate, and what we believe is possible.
We act with honesty, professionalism and accountability—earning trust through consistent, ethical leadership
We foster teamwork, cooperation and inclusive dialogue—believing in the collective strength of our communities and partners.
We approach every learner, educator and stakeholder with empathy, kindness, and care—especially in contexts where support is most needed.
We embrace challenges with determination and creativity—building solutions that are adaptive, sustainable and learner-centered.
We champion diversity and equity—welcoming individuals of all genders, ethnicities, religions and geographies into our educational mission.
Educare South Sudan is more than just an organization — we are a community of educators and innovators advocating transformation in South Sudan's learning landscape through purpose, innovation, precision and heart.
Founded and guided by experienced teachers from across the country, our work is shaped by those who know the classroom intimately. We bring subject mastery, pedagogical insight, and curriculum alignment to every initiative we lead.
We design and implement digital tools like Junub Academy to enable scalable, resilient and inclusive education. From offline access to device ownership campaigns, our platforms are built to last and built for real-world challenges.
Educare is a trusted ally of government institutions. Our formal agreements with the Ministry of General Education and Instruction and other state agencies reflect our deep integration into South Sudan's national education transformation agenda. We don't just align, we help advance the strategy.
We believe technology should be shaped by those it serves. That's why our team—grounded in local experience and committed to continuous improvement—leads the movement for digital equity, pedagogical innovation and sustainable reform.
We belong to the communities (all learners) we serve. Our identity reflects South Sudanese languages, values and lived realities. Parents, learners and local leaders have embraced Educare—not as outsiders, but as partners—empowering us to embed cultural relevance into every learning experience.
Educare South Sudan operates through a dynamic, collaborative model that integrates digital learning development, strategic partnerships and grassroots community engagement to drive equitable access to quality education across South Sudan. Our approach is informed by real classroom challenges, aligned with national education goals and designed for impact at scale.
Our programs are designed and implemented by experienced South Sudanese educators — Educare Master Teachers who deeply understand the classroom, the South Sudan Competency-Based Curriculum, curriculum-aligned digital content and the learner. Their expertise ensures pedagogical relevance and curriculum fidelity, so that learning materials resonate with students and consistently meet national standards.
We empower teachers in two distinct but connected ways:
Content Creators: Trained to produce multimedia instructional lesson content.
Facilitators: Equipped to integrate e-learning into their classrooms through blended learning practices and flipped classroom models.
We operate through Junub Academy — our mobile and web-based platform - which operates across connectivity levels — offering online access where possible through zero rating and offline delivery through solar-powered devices, and school-based hubs platforms. This ensures that learners in remote, conflict-affected or low-connectivity areas are never left behind.
We align with the Ministry of General Education and Instruction and State Ministries through signed MoUs, policy engagement and technical collaboration hence aligning our programs with the General Education's Strategic Plan (2023-2027). We also work closely with the Ministry of ICT and Postal Services for telecom and infrastructure support.
We partner with universities, telecom operators, development agencies, and community organizations to co-create solutions, mobilize resources, and scale impact. Our work is collaborative by design—because transformation requires shared effort.
Educare works hand-in-hand with local schools, PTAs, and community leaders to embed e-learning into everyday learning environments; ensuring ownership, sustainability and cultural fit. Our Parent for Child Device (PCD) initiative mobilizes families to support digital access, while our partnerships with schools ensure contextual fit and local ownership.
We intentionally include marginalized groups—refugees, IDPs, incarcerated learners, girls and learners with disabilities by creating flexible, low-bandwidth, multilingual and device-accessible learning experiences.
Educare plays an active role in shaping the future of digital learning in South Sudan through national policy advocacy, coalition participation and research partnerships. We aim to embed e-learning into long-term education systems strengthening.
Educare South Sudan uses real-time feedback, analytics and stakeholder input to continuously refine content, delivery and engagement strategies. Our adaptive model ensures that learning remains relevant, effective and responsive to evolving needs.
This community-powered, government-aligned and innovation-driven approach defines how we work—bringing digital education where it's needed most and ensuring no learner is left behind.
